The 2009 Proven 5th Anniversary Show at Rye Airfield is a wrap!
Proven in the Northeast had its sickest year ever, with a ton of great submissions exposing some of New England’s most dominant filmmakers. A hugely appreciative crowd came out for a great event full of films, food, and raffles, and both our judges, and you the fans weighed in for who would be crowned this year’s grand champion.

The proven judges had a tough job selecting the top ten films and an even harder job picking the grand champion. This year the prize went to Josh Langlais for his killer film Warren Sk8 Park. If you haven’t seen it, make sure to check it out here or at Great work Josh and keep killing it!

As always, after the event we turned to the people to decide their favorite, and this year the 2009 peoples choice award went to Chris MacDonald for his film Count It. This is a prime example of sick New England skating at its best; check it out here. Congratulations Chris, and good luck.

As the 2011 Proven in the Northeast Film Festival and Contest approaches, we at Proven realize that 5 great years has required a ton of hard work from a group of awesome contributors. We have decided to take 2010 off in an effort to allow these guys some time to kick back and relax and further develop their ideas as we all get stoked for the next fest. Thanks for your support and rest assured that we will be back and better then ever in 2011! Keep riding and stay tuned for the latest from

The crowds were treated to all kinds of cool rafles and giveaways from our sponsors including a Surfboard and skis. And as an an added extra bonus, every attendee got an advance copy of the 5th Anniversary 'Best Of Proven' DVD. It has the winners and judges selects from the first 5 years of Proven.

If you didn't get one, don't worry they will be available for FREE at select New England surf/skate/snow shops in the coming weeks. If your shop doesn't have them, tell them to get in touch with us and we'll ship 'em off a bunch.

And if you can't get to New England (sorry for you!) but still want a copy of the DVD, YOU CAN GET IT HERE! for a mere $10 which includes the shipping. (Dubious Honor is the DVD production company so you purchase it off their PayPal site) There is an extremely limited number of these DVDs available so if you want one, we suggest you grab it now before they're gone...

Keep an eye on the space to the right. In the next few weeks we will be posting this year's TV special. As of this moment though you can watch last year's. And as always, do you think you can make better films than the ones our judges picked? Prove it! Submit your film to next year's Proven Film Festival! The 2010 call for entries goes out the end of march.
